NOW HIRING – EXPERIENCED CARPENTER

Curie Contracting, Inc. is looking for an experienced carpenter to join our team.

Pay: $28-$35/hour (depending on experience and skill level)

Full-time | Monday-Friday | Kinston, NC

We specialize in:

• Structural repairs
• Home additions
• Kitchen & bathroom remodeling
• Custom framing
• Doors, windows, and finish carpentry

Carpenter laborer Requirements:

• 5+ years of residential carpentry experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Own basic hand tools
• Able to work independently and produce quality work

Lead Carpenter Requirements:

• 7+ years of residential construction experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership or crew lead role preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a background check if required.
• Own a complete set of professional-grade hand tools and cordless tools.

Technical Skills

Applicants must be able to perform the following without constant supervision:

• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Layout walls, floors, roofs, stairs, and structural components accurately.
• Perform structural framing, including floor systems, walls, roof framing, and beam installation.
• Install windows, exterior doors, and interior doors.
• Complete high-quality trim carpentry, including baseboard, casing, crown molding, and cabinetry installation.
• Install siding, soffit, fascia, and exterior trim.
• Perform demolition while protecting existing finishes.
• Identify and correct framing deficiencies.
• Understand load paths and basic structural principles.
• Operate power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field employees.
• Train apprentices and less experienced carpenters.
• Plan daily work activities.
• Coordinate deliveries and material usage.
• Communicate with project management regarding progress and issues.
• Solve problems independently without waiting for direction.
• Ensure work meets company quality standards.
• Keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining craftsmanship.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Work on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.

Applicants should be comfortable performing structural repairs, installing temporary supports, replacing floor systems, framing additions, and completing complex remodeling projects. This is not an entry-level position.
