As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for various payroll-related tasks that ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payments. Key responsibilities include:

• Completing weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll returns and processing required deposits.
• Supporting year-end processing and filing of government documents.
• Entering and auditing new hires and terminations for both union and non-union employees in the payroll system.
• Processing non-union PTO payouts and reviewing time entries to ensure all hours are accurately recorded.
• Downloading, balancing, and importing payroll data files into Oracle.
• Assisting in payroll processing and issuing layoff checks as needed.
• Responding to employment verifications for craft employees via phone and mail.
• Assisting with monthly union reporting and performing routine payroll tasks such as filing and sorting weekly payroll checks.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 1-3+ years of experience in Accounting; payroll experience is beneficial.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is a plus.
