Payroll Specialist
- Collecting time sheet data and payroll information.
- Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs.
- Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
- Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
- Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
- Preparing and distributing income statements.
- Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
- Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
- Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
- Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
Requirements:
- Payroll: 3 years (Preferred)
- Responsible for entering new hires, rehires, and other employee changes into system.
- Reconciling the outstanding list of payroll checks.
- Reconciling the payroll tax reconciliations.
- Preparing the funding reports.
- Auditing data entry.
- Responsible for various weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting on Payroll activity.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong computer skills including Excel and Payroll/HRIS system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- General accounting knowledge.
- Strong sense of urgency and initiative to provide quality work and service to internal customers.
- Able to work independently, multi-task and work as part of a team to meet team goals and responsibilities.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- 3 years Multi-state payroll experience.
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting, HR, or Business, preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional designation, preferred.
