We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is primarily involved in the financial services industry and is located in a professional office environment. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for a variety of duties related to the processing of payroll and the management of related activities.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in managing day-to-day payroll processing activities.
• Utilize various accounting software systems for payroll administration.
• Engage in year-end, quarter-end, and bonus payroll activities, ensuring streamlined workflows and adherence to deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of payroll-related data in systems such as ADP, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Use Workday ERP system for various accounting functions.
• Monitor and manage customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Administer 401k and RRSP, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as related to payroll.• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must
• Familiarity with Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System
• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration is required
• Experience with About Time and Accounting Functions
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Workday and Workday ERP is preferred
• Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll.
