We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with robust knowledge in prevailing wage. As a Payroll Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include the management of our company's payroll operations, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll processing for our employees, ensuring precise consolidation of hours worked, correct calculation of wages, and accurate withholdings.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and regulations and apply them to payroll practices.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Accounting teams to process payroll changes and adjustments.
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies or questions, provide customer service to employees regarding payroll matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, prepare payroll reports and statements when required.
- Perform year-end tax procedures, including W-2 processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Participate in payroll system upgrades and payroll audits.
- Compute wages and deductions, post wage data on pay records.
- Ensure all payroll operations are executed in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- Proven experience as a payroll specialist or payroll clerk.
- Deep understanding of prevailing wage laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with relevant software QuickBooks and ADP
- A keen eye for detail and a strong mathematical aptitude.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under set deadlines
