Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role supports a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility by operating production machinery, performing general labor tasks, and assisting across multiple departments that produce oil seals, gaskets, and PTFE components. You will work with a variety of machines and tools in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment, contributing directly to the quality and output of critical automotive parts.
Responsibilities- Operate various production machinery, including press machines and stamping equipment, in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform general labor tasks such as sorting, kitting, assembly, and inspection to support overall production flow.
- Work across different departments, including gaskets, oil seals, and PTFE, as production needs require.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Assist with machine setup and basic machine operation activities as directed by supervisors or leads.
- Handle parts and materials safely while maintaining a clean and organized work area in a dusty, dirty environment.
- Monitor machinery and production processes and promptly report any issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
- Follow all safety rules, including proper use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to plant procedures.
- Comply with attendance and call-out procedures, including using the designated phone number provided during orientation when reporting absences.
- Work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed, particularly in departments where overtime is common, such as oil seals.
Essential Skills- Experience in production or general labor within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate press machines, stamping machines, and other production machinery.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in a manufacturing setting.
- Capability to read and use basic measuring tools such as tape measures to ensure accuracy.
- Comfort working in hot, dusty, and dirty conditions, including near ovens and compression equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Willingness to work any assigned shift, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 10-hour shifts, and to work overtime when required.
- Reliability in following established call-out procedures and plant policies.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift materials, and move around a busy production floor safely.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled facility with exposure to heat from ovens and machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in metal stamping or similar processes, particularly in environments with stamping and press machines.
- Background in operating or assisting with mold machines, compression machines, or ovens in a production setting.
- Familiarity with assembly and inspection processes in an automotive or industrial environment.
- Experience with forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
- Ability to read basic blueprints or production instructions.
- Previous experience in departments with coating and assembly processes is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to perform a mix of machine operation and general labor tasks.
