Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role involves working on a production line to handle, package, and prepare products for shipment in a food manufacturing environment. You will palletize and shrink wrap products, clean and sanitize workstations, move materials using a manual pallet jack, and accurately weigh and record product information. The position is physically demanding and requires consistent attention to safety and good manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities- Palletize finished products and securely shrink wrap them for storage and shipment.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and surrounding areas to maintain a safe and hygienic production environment.
- Move product and materials using a manual pallet jack throughout the production area and to the warehouse.
- Weigh products on a small digital scale and accurately read and record digital weight measurements.
- Handle and move filled bags that can weigh up to 50 pounds, using team lifting for items over 50 pounds in accordance with company policy.
- Push and pull large bowls on wheels that can weigh up to 1,000 pounds, ensuring at least eight bowls are moved per shift.
- Perform general production line tasks such as assembly, packaging, and machine operation as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMPs), including facility rules and hygiene standards.
- Maintain a high level of productivity while performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Support overall food production and manufacturing processes by working collaboratively with team members.
Essential Skills- Experience working in a general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar general labor environment within the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year of continuous employment with the same company within the last 5 years.
- Ability to stand for 8 to 12 hours per shift.
- Capability to lift and move bags weighing up to 50 pounds and to perform team lifts for heavier items.
- Comfort with physically demanding work, including pushing and pulling bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
- Ability to read and accurately record digital weight measurements.
- Experience with production, production line work, general labor, assembly, packaging, and general production tasks.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and good manufacturing practices in a food production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Background in food production, food manufacturing, or machine operation in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with packaging processes and packager responsibilities.
- Reliability and strong work ethic demonstrated through stable employment history.
- Attention to detail when handling, weighing, and recording product information.
- Willingness to adhere strictly to facility rules, including hygiene and dress code requirements.

Work EnvironmentThe facility operates in a small-town, family-like setting with around 30 full-time employees. Safety and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are highly prioritized. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, hair net, eye protection, jeans, shirt, bump cap, and lab coat. Employees must follow strict hygiene and GMP rules, including no smoking or tobacco products on-site, no perfume or cologne, no fingernail polish, no jewelry, and no piercings. Clothing must be free of rips, tears, holes, or added embellishments. The temperature can be hot in the summer, with some manufacturing rooms reaching up to 90 degrees, while conditions are comfortable in the winter. Orientation takes place on-site over 3–4 hours, and depending on the shift schedule, work may begin the same day or shortly thereafter, with details communicated in advance.
