Job Title: Production Worker – Packaging Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis role focuses on operating and setting up automated packaging machinery used to fill, cut, seal, and package sauce packets and containers in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. You will handle machine setup, monitor production runs, resolve equipment issues, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities- Set up and operate automated packaging machinery, including auto packagers, cutters, and fillers for sauce packets and containers.
- Configure machinery by connecting and adjusting hoses to tankers, kettles, and fillers to ensure proper product flow.
- Install and replace film and rolls on packaging equipment, and adjust blades to achieve accurate cutting and sealing.
- Enter and manage production orders and runs in the computer system to ensure correct product specifications and quantities.
- Monitor equipment during operation, promptly manage and unclog jams, and perform basic troubleshooting to keep lines running smoothly.
- Inspect products for defects and verify that filled, cut, sealed, and packaged items meet quality and GMP standards.
- Climb ladders and work on mezzanines above machinery, kettles, and tanks as needed to access equipment components.
- Lift up to 40 pounds independently to move materials, packaging supplies, and product as required for production.
- Follow GMP procedures and safety protocols at all times, including proper attire and hygiene requirements.
- Collaborate with team members on the production floor to maintain efficient workflow and meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machinery, tanks, and packaging lines.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Essential Skills- At least 1 year of experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.
- At least 1 year of packaging experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or general production experience.
- Ability to operate packaging machinery and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Comfortable lifting 40 pounds individually on a regular basis.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on mezzanines above machinery, kettles, and tanks.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when checking products for defects and verifying quality.
- Basic computer skills to input and manage orders and production runs.
- Reliability and consistency in attending scheduled shifts, including potential weekend or extended shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
- Experience with machine operating and packaging machinery is highly desirable.
- Blending and batch mixing experience with kettles or tanks is a nice-to-have.
- Comfort working in a structured GMP environment with specific hygiene and attire requirements.
- Willingness to learn and grow into roles such as lead, mechanic, or senior operator over time.
