The Quality Manager plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals
- Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in the organization
- Utilizes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to effectively track, monitor, and implement required corrective/improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.
- Manages and drives the Corrective/Preventive Action process
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
- Performs reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
- Represents the company during customer visits and surveys, and during meetings and presentations at the customer’s location
- Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
- Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers
- Proficiency in navigating and utilizing the PLEX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or business from a four-year college or university
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Manager, or in a comparable role, along with at least 2 years of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience directly overseeing employees in the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws
- Experience interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and monitoring work; evaluating performance; providing recognition and corrective actions; and addressing and resolving employee concerns
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing
