Job Title: Quality Manager
Job Description
This role leads and oversees the quality management system for assigned locations, ensuring compliance with standardized requirements and driving continuous improvement across all processes. The Quality Manager builds and guides a high-performing quality team, partners closely with internal and external stakeholders, and champions a culture of quality excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the quality management system for assigned locations to ensure full compliance with standardized requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team, setting clear goals, providing coaching, and supporting professional growth.
- Design, implement, and lead continuous improvement programs focused on enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and overall operational performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and support internal and external quality audits, ensuring readiness, effective execution, and timely closure of findings.
- Use root cause analysis methods to investigate quality issues, identify underlying causes, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and other functions to integrate quality standards into daily operations and new initiatives.
- Establish, monitor, and report on quality metrics and key performance indicators to track performance and drive data-based decision making.
- Make sound, timely decisions on quality-related matters, balancing customer requirements, operational constraints, and long-term business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to promote trust, transparency, and alignment on quality expectations.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the organization by sharing best practices, facilitating problem-solving sessions, and encouraging employee involvement in quality initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems and their application within manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience leading and maintaining quality management systems compliant with standardized requirements.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and act decisively on quality issues.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities, including the use of structured root cause analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing and sustaining improvement initiatives.
- Ability to build and maintain trust with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and follow-through.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in quality or a closely related field.
- Manufacturing experience with hands-on exposure to production environments.
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles, including leading teams and driving departmental objectives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, quality, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASQ Certification preferred, reflecting formal training and recognition in quality disciplines.
- Experience working in a machine shop or similar manufacturing setting with customized or specialized work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Comfort working in a mid-sized organization where responsibilities are broad and workdays are varied and unique.

This role operates within a machine shop environment characterized by a mid-sized operation and customized work that brings variety and uniqueness to each workday. The setting involves close collaboration with production, engineering, and operations teams on the shop floor and in office areas. The work environment emphasizes hands-on engagement with manufacturing processes, practical problem solving, and continuous improvement activities in a production-focused facility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Bedford, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
