Job Description: Paralegal at an Estate Planning and Administration Law Firm
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our law firm in downtown Charleston. The successful candidate will support our attorneys in managing and executing a variety of tasks related to estate planning, probate, and trust administration. This role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
•\tClient Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and ensuring a positive client experience.
•\tCase Management: Maintain and organize client files, track deadlines, and manage calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks.
•\tCourt Filings: Prepare and file documents with the court, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements.
•\tTrust Administration: Assist in the administration of trusts, including managing trust assets, distributions, and record-keeping.
•\tProbate Process: Support attorneys in probate cases by gathering necessary documents, preparing petitions, and coordinating with courts and beneficiaries.
Qualifications
•\tEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Certification from an accredited paralegal program is preferred. Willing to consider experience in lieu of education.
•\tExperience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, or trust administration is preferred.
