We are seeking an Accounting Manager in Traverse City, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. You will also be responsible for utilizing QuickBooks to manage and streamline accounting processes effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the company's financial accounts, including budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, conducting regular audits and reviews.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and professional development.
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks, including general ledger management, payroll processing, and financial reconciliation.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Deferred Revenue management.• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position
• Proven expertise in Accounting Software Systems
• Proficient in all Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Auditing procedures and practices
• Familiarity with Billing Functions and Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in managing the General Ledger
• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Knowledgeable in handling Deferred Revenue
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not mandatory.
