Robert Half is currently seeking a skilled Accounting Manager with a profound passion for numbers and a strong understanding of operational fund accounting to join one of our clients in Colorado Springs! As the Accounting Manager, you will demonstrate your leadership skills in managing a small accounting team and inspire them to deliver outstanding results. You will oversee financial transactions, participate in budgeting processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including month-end and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, and budgeting
2. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
3. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
4. Provide technical support for accounting software Sage Intacct
5. Lead the team in performing A-Z accounting duties up to the month-end close
6. Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
2. Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization
3. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
4. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide the team
5. Proficient in Sage Intacct accounting software
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Must have at least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Strong knowledge of grant accounting and fund accounting in the non-profit sector is essential

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, credit card reconciliation, daily reconciliation, expense reconciliation, and financial reconciliation

• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close procedures

• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Knowledge of Form 1099 filings is necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a must

• Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

• Experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes is beneficial

• A proven track record of implementing and maintaining internal controls and financial procedures is preferred

• Experience in a managerial role is beneficial.
