Accounting Manager
We have partnered with a renowned nonprofit educational institution who is currently seeking an Accounting Manager. This role is integral to the financial health and operational efficiency of the school, requiring a leader who can manage the accounting team and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain student tuition accounts and ensure incoming payments are processed according to financial policies and procedures
• Monitor A/R aging reports and follow up with parents when payments are not received on time
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data
• Reconcile accounts receivable ensuring all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Update vendors in the accounting system, verify discrepancies, and help resolve billing issues
• Assist the Controller with month‐end and year‐end close procedures including postings, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and two annual audits •Create and send out monthly budget reports and assist the CFO in monitoring budgets and enforcing internal controls
• Support the CFO in the development of the annual Preliminary and Final Budgets
• Support the CFO and HR Coordinator in developing the budget for salaries and benefits
• Complete ongoing financial analysis to guide policies and update the Multi Year Financial Plan
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field required
•A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably in a non-profit educational setting
•Self-starter, able to work independently and prioritize with superb organizational skills
•Proficient with technology (strong knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and ideally Blackbaud
•Excellent communicator with the ability to interface professionally with all levels of the organization
•Detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines, comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with priorities that can change constantly
