Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will be a key member of our financial team, responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This role requires a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional with a strong background in wealth management and private investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and expense reports.
- Maintain and reconcile investment portfolios, including tracking investment performance.
- Monitor and report on private equity, real estate, and other alternative investments.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and tax planning strategies.
- Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Coordinate and support annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with investment, legal, and operations teams to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a family office, wealth management, or private investment environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
