PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and the integrity of financial data. The Accounting Manager drive the monthly close process and preparation of the consolidated financial statements for the enterprise. Additional roles and responsibilities include preparation of the year end consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP and support the independent annual audit. This role plays a pivotal part in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, guiding financial planning, and providing strategic insight to senior leadership. The Accounting Manager also leads the accounting team, trains and provides guidance to the accounting staff, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and supports the company's overall financial strategy and growth objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting at the college or master's level, or a minimum of six years of accounting work experience, is required.
- Minimum two years of finance management experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidating financial statements, and financial reporting.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor accounting staff.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle complex accounting tasks, financial analysis, and support strategic decision-making
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and taxes.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Support financial analysis and reporting to the board of directors.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in the development of team members' skills and professional growth.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and cost-saving opportunities, to support business decisions.
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and accurate.
- Stay updated on new accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant guidelines.
