We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a dynamic team at a New York based client of ours; a premier lighting design company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with specific expertise in managing financial operations within the architecture and engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Billing: Handle client billing, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing.
• Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Deltek Ajera: Oversee and manage all aspects of the Deltek Ajera accounting system, ensuring accurate and efficient financial reporting.
• Accounts Payable: Manage the accounts payable process, including vendor management, payment processing, and expense tracking.
• Accounts Receivable: Oversee accounts receivable, including client communication, payment collection, and aging reports.
• Microsoft Excel: Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
• US GAAP: Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Proficiency in Deltek Ajera or similar project-based accounting software.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Proven experience in billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in the architecture, engineering, or design industries.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
