SVS Group currently has a full-time temp to hire opportunity for an HR Assistant. Our client is in the food manufacturing industry.
Purpose of Role:
The position is responsible for HR support for manufacturing employees, office activities, and general administrative support for the Glendale manufacturing facility.
Principal Accountabilities:
Office / Front Desk Responsibilities / General Administration
- Oversee front desk to the facility, greet visitors, and guide sign in process.
- Receive and sort mail.
- Monitor office supply levels and place orders as needed.
- Point of contact for janitorial service, Sparklett’s water, and Xerox.
- Place Safeway orders and food/catering orders for company events.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
HR Administrative
- Process payroll hours for submittal daily for hourly employees (full time and temporary)
- Reconcile time and attendance and work with management as required.
- Create, maintain, and or distribute reports, including but not limited to time and attendance, attendance tracking, and PTO log.
- Onboard new hires and process required paperwork.
- Handle minor employee disputes and issues.
- Incident and accident investigations, tracking, reporting, and filing.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Process workers’ compensation claims.
- Maintain key box and log.
- Perform monthly locker inspections.
- Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Accounts Payable Administrative
- Receive and process invoices, including distributing to the appropriate manager for coding and approval.
- Petty cash
- N2 gas tracking
- Other responsibilities as may be assigned.

- Excellent customer service abilities
- Experience in QuickBooks or similar accounting system
- Ability to oversee several activities at once.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for addressing all levels of the business, customers, consumers, regulatory authorities, and employees, and staff.
- Knowledge of key food safety and quality risks in frozen dessert manufacturing
- Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with discretion.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Must be proficient in English.
Key Experiences
- 6 years+ in Customer service, HR duties or administrative office
- Food manufacturing/distribution experience a plus
