We are in need of a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Long Beach, California. As a HR Assistant, you will be tasked with handling day-to-day HR duties, tracking and processing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, working with Leave of Absences (LOA), and performing standard HR tasks. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle day-to-day HR tasks to ensure smooth operations
• Process onboarding for new employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and information
• Verify I-9 documentation and maintain accurate records
• Assist in returning employees from LOA, coordinating and ensuring smooth transition
• Track and process FMLA requests, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant
• Handle workers compensation cases, providing necessary support and assistance
• Perform general ad hoc HR duties as required
• Use ADP Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, HRMS, and other tools for various HR functions
• Conduct auditing, background checks, and other checks as needed
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing and resolving employee inquiries promptly.• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
• Knowledge of ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
• Experience with Ceridian and HRMS
• Familiarity with About Time software
• Proven skills in Auditing
• Ability to conduct Background Checks
• Understanding of Benefit Functions
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HR ethical standards
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other HR related software
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
• Previous experience in a similar HR role is advantageous.
