At the elementary level, you will lead a self-contained STLR (Structured Teaching and Learning Room) supporting students with Autism and functional communication needs. This rewarding full-time role offers the chance to foster social, behavioral, and academic growth for a small group, with a maximum caseload of 10-13.

The middle school assignment involves co-teaching in a supported education setting. Collaborate closely with general education teachers to deliver inclusive instruction, tailored activities, and behavioral support for up to 13 students, helping each reach their full potential.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Illinois)
• Experience working with students on the Autism spectrum and those with communication needs (preferred for elementary placement)
• Familiarity with inclusive settings and co-teaching models (preferred for middle school placement)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with both staff and families
• Commitment to fostering an equitable, supportive classroom environment
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum and strategies to individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials for diverse learners
• Collect data and track student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
• Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff
• Create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that encourages student engagement and growth
• Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and ongoing communication with families
