We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Non-Profit industry, located in NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia. The role will encompass various responsibilities related to accounts payable and account reconciliation, with an emphasis on detail analysis and payment processing.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform detailed analysis on accounts to maintain accuracy and detect discrepancies.
• Audit payment information related to funding and grants in compliance with government regulations.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Promptly respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues.
• Regularly review customer accounts and initiate appropriate actions when necessary.
• Assist in the processing of accounts payable and ensure all financial data is up to date.
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure all financial documentation is accurate and complete.
• Adhere to all financial procedures and regulations.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related field
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• In-depth understanding and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Strong skills in Detailed Analysis
• Experience with Payment Processing
• Familiarity with Government Grants
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and other accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Experience in non-profit sector is a plus but not necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
