Robert Half is recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a dynamic Raleigh based company. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, processing, reviewing, and evaluating financial transactions for an assigned portfolio of entities and will work with the Controller on various corporate accounting monthly tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Accounting Operations: Supervise and control our financial transactions. This includes reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all company's accounting tasks.
• Financial Analysis: Possess excellent analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to efficiently analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Leadership: Manage accountants and junior analysts, plan their work, and assign tasks.
Detailed Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze financial data to create reports on financial status based on analysis results.
• Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to the company's executives and senior management.
• Support and consult with the company's personnel on accounting control procedures.
• Supervise Property Accountants and bookkeepers, planning their work and assigning tasks.
• Lead the accounting department’s month-end and year-end close processes.
• Organize financial statements quarterly, ensuring they are accurate and timely.
• Support and oversee audits and tax returns.
• Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Practical experience with accounting software packages.
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields; a certification such as CPA will be a bonus.
