Job Title: Staff Accountant

Pay Rate: $25/hr - $33/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and have experience in full-cycle AP, including a solid understanding of 3-way matching. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic manufacturing environment, where adaptability and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle AP transactions.
Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents to ensure accuracy.
Address and resolve issues related to discrepancies in invoices and purchase orders.
Identify and rectify duplicate payments, working to enhance system controls to prevent future occurrences.
Assist with cash allocation and collections.
Send out email status updates to customers regarding outstanding balances.
Issue credit memos as needed and assist customers with their inquiries.
Maintain accurate records of all AR transactions.
Assist with month-end closing processes.
Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
Support the finance team with various accounting tasks as needed.
Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Strong knowledge of AP and AR processes.
Proficiency in 3-way matching and experience with full-cycle AP.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving duplicate payments.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to wear several hats and switch tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems used in manufacturing.
Strong communication skills for customer interactions and internal team collaboration.
Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes effectively.
