Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal with a strong background in personal injury law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist our attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and managing case files specifically related to personal injury cases. This role requires a deep understanding of personal injury law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist in managing personal injury cases from intake to settlement or trial, ensuring all deadlines and legal requirements are met.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant case laws, statutes, and regulations related to personal injury claims.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and settlement agreements.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information and documentation.
- Medical Records: Obtain and review medical records, bills, and other relevant documents to support personal injury claims.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies as required.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining case files, and managing calendars.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on personal injury law.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong client service orientation and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trial preparation and courtroom procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records related to personal injury cases.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
