About the Position
The Software Development Project Manager (SDPM) is responsible for overseeing software development projects for high-profile corporate customers. This individual serves as the primary project management lead, accountable for guiding various software projects through both planning and execution phases, thereby ensuring a predictable experience for employees and clients.
The SDPM will act as the central point of contact within the organization, coordinating communication and managing the status of software projects. This role requires strong customer-facing skills, with experience in guiding customers through the development process in a professional and engaging manner.
The SDPM is distinct from a Scrum Master or Product Manager and is responsible for addressing project progress, resource needs, task assignments, and resolving blockers. Using superior organizational and planning skills, the SDPM will maintain comprehensive knowledge of project statuses and advancements both internally and externally (with client dependencies).
The SDPM will liaise with development resources, QA, product management, account management, and leadership. They will participate in development standups and client success meetings, ensuring effective communication flow among all parties and synchronizing efforts. The SDPM will proactively steer projects, ensuring obstacles are removed and keeping leadership informed, making status and progress on all projects transparent within the organization.
This role necessitates regular interaction with product management to ensure that requirements are assigned, communicated, and prioritized effectively by product and engineering management. The SDPM must possess the expertise and knowledge necessary to ensure that product and project decisions are made and communicated appropriately, keeping projects on track.
