Robert Half Legal is working with a law firm located in North Dallas seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal, to support their Managing Partner and an Associate. A minimum of 10 years’ of litigation experience is required. The role primarily revolves around litigation, requiring the individual to assist in managing complex legal projects, communicating with clients, and working with various software and databases. The role is critical to maintain smooth legal operations in the organization and heavy client contact will be involved. This Paralegal role requires that you possess strong computer and typing skills, excellent communication abilities, and exceptional organizational, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an acute attention to detail, capable of effectively multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently. You must be familiar with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and calculating due dates is essential.
Proficiency in a variety of software and databases is expected, which should include Word, Hummingbird eDocs, ProDoc eFiling, PACER, Westlaw or LexisNexis, Secretary of State, eDiscovery platforms, and general internet research sites. Familiarity with additional computer software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, time and billing software programs is a plus.
Responsibilities
• Manage and process complex legal cases and documents, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Utilize a variety of software and databases such as Word, Hummingbird eDocs, ProDoc eFiling, PACER, Westlaw, or LexisNexis to manage and organize information.
• Maintain regular contact with clients, opposing counsel, court coordinators, and firm service providers and handle any inquiries or issues that may arise.
• Utilize excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and due dates.
• Exhibit strong technical knowledge and typing skills to handle various tasks efficiently.
• Exhibit a keen eye for detail, ensuring all legal documents and procedures are accurately handled.
• Possess the ability to work overtime as needed to meet any rush projects, critical filings, or after-hours client meetings.
• Be prepared for occasional overnight travel as the case load may require out-of-town visits.
• Utilize various computer software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and time and billing software to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Requirements:
• Paralegal certificate or degree preferred
• Excellent Calendar Management skills to manage appointments and deadlines
• Strong Communication skills for effective interaction with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
• Solid understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
• Ability to assist in Trial Preparation including research, document preparation, and coordination
• Familiarity with Family Law procedures and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
• Experience in preparing Discovery Responses
• Familiarity with the Westlaw legal research
This role involves significant client interaction as well as frequent communication with the opposing counsel, court coordinators, staff attorneys, and firm service providers. The ability to work overtime as needed and adjust to changing work week demands is expected to meet rush projects and critical filings, or to accommodate after-hours client meetings. Due to the nature of the case load, occasional out-of-town overnight travel is also required.
