Senior Staff Accountant
We are in search of a meticulous Senior Accountant to enhance our Corporate Financial Accounting team. The candidate will be pivotal in fine-tuning our financial processes, ensuring correctness in financial reporting and bolstering the financial robustness of the organization. A robust understanding of accounting principles, outstanding analytical skills, and a knack for cross-department collaboration are essential. Candidates with a background in public accounting will be favored due to our intricate financial reporting needs and extensive intercompany accounts.
Duties:
Financial Reporting: Compile, review, and examine financial reports for compliance with GAAP and corporate protocols. Contribute in the assembly of consolidated financial statements and pinpoint potential areas for improvement in financial data.
General Ledger Management: Ensure succinctness and precision in general ledger accounts. Spearhead monthly and yearly close procedures, and oversee intercompany financial activity.
Audit and Compliance: Oversee internal and external audits, ensure observance of all financial regulations, and stay updated with accounting standards.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies for enhancing financial operations' effectiveness. Participate in the development of new accounting systems.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and mentor entry level accounting staff.
Skills:
Impeccable attention to detail, excellent decision-making and time management skills with a strong mastery of Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to create effective business relationships with excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment is essential.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is required, with CPA or CMA preferred. A strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards are essential. Candidates should also be comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Experience with JD Edwards or SAP, Oracle or other major ERP is required. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience is a necessity.Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, SAP, Financial Reporting, Bachelors / Honours Degree
