Job Overview:

The Senior Accountant’s primary function is to lead the monthly accounting processes, including preparing journal entries and related support, reconciliation and review of accounts, and providing coverage during team member absences. The position reports to the Assistant Controller and works closely with the Company’s CFO, Controller, accounting staff, customer service representatives, branch managers, outside vendors, and customers, and includes troubleshooting and recommending improvements in accounting processes and procedures.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Program Preferred
• Minimum of three years in an office/ accounting setting

Scope of Responsibility:

• Monthly journal entry preparation and documentation
• Statement review and preparation for management reporting
• Balance Sheet account reconciliation
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
• Prepare sales tax returns
• Prepare sales commission reports
• Identify problems, troubleshoot, and provide recommendations for improvements in accurately and efficiently measuring, recording, and reporting financial data
• Special project work includes preparing audit schedules and explanations, commission calculations, US Department of Commerce reports, etc.
• Assist with software implementations and automating manual processes
