Job Title: Sr. Staff Accountant

Location: Onsite in Dallas, TX 75201

Schedule: M-F, 8AM to 5PM

Duration: Contract to Hire!

Salary Range: $35/hr. to 40/hr.+ BOE

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial documents, including profit and loss statements, balance summaries, and general ledger reports.
• Generate accurate and timely financial reports for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
• Identify ways to improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Work with different teams to enhance workflows and improve overall operational effectiveness.
• Manage and reconcile financial transactions related to insurance receivables and payables.
• Calculate and track earnings for insurance agents and brokers based on sales data and contractual terms.
• Reconcile commission payments with sales records and address any discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing for audits and coordinating the audit process.
• Monitor and support tax-related activities and requirements.
• Provide support to the Corporate Finance team as necessary.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the insurance sector (big plus - but not required)
• Solid knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulatory standards.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including lookups and formulas.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and account reconciliation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in managing data.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
