We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is pivotal in our finance department and involves handling various accounting functions, consolidating financial data, evaluating internal control systems, and leading departmental staff.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll.
• Handle month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, perform account reconciliations and conduct G/L analysis.
• Prepare and present cash-flow reports, project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash.
• Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure timely cash collection.
• Generate monthly financial reports and present to executive committee and partners.
• Assist in creating the annual budget and forecasts, and monitor them on a monthly basis.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Sage Intacct for various accounting functions.
• Handle both high-level and day-to-day functions while working directly with the accounting/administration team, executive leaders, and operations.
• Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Prepare and record journal entries.• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge of General Ledger management
• Ability to perform Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct software
• Proficiency in Excel Formulas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification will be a plus
• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role in finance
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
