JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day-to-day job functions related to accounting for Cooperatives with a focus on Patronage, Equity and Member Certificates of Indebtedness as well as other accounting related assignments, projects and customer support functions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Computer and data entry skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Previous experience in office environment.
- Frequently lift or move 20 pounds.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Appropriate personal protective equipment in restrictive areas.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business is preferred with a minimum 5 years experience in business, finance or accounting in an office setting. Experience with Agriculture Cooperative Accounting a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Responsible for handling telephone calls and walk in member requests with regard to Patronage and Equity.
- Maintain the company's Equity Program policy, guidelines, rules and processes.
- Assist customers with equity transactions (membership applications, stock purchases, stock redemption and transfer requests).
- Maintain member stock/equity records, membership eligibility and voting records.
- Assist in processing annual patronage payout to members.
- Provide accurate and consistent detailed equity information as requested by the Board of Directors, management, auditors and member patrons.
- Monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Primary backup to learn other positions in AR, AP, Inventory, Credit.
- Customer Support – ability to answer telephone calls, ascertaining the nature of the call, screening and routing calls in a prompt and professional manner
- Performs other duties as assigned by upper management
