Sr. Accountant - HYBRID OPPORTUNITY - Melville, NY

Anna Parson at Robert Half is recruiting for a sharp, adaptable Sr. Accountant for a well-established accounting team in Melville, NY.

As the Sr. Accountant you will:

• Assist in the month end close procedures, prepare journal entries, and GL & bank account reconciliations

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and help prevent discrepancies.

• Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of revenue and expense accounts.

• Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

• Ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley requirements by following internal controls.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.

• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Possess extensive experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Exhibit thorough knowledge of General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Display strong understanding of Month End Close procedures

• Have experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance

• Showcase excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

• Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Show a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and solving problems
