Job Title: Staff or Senior Accountant (depending on experience)

Location: Greater Waterbury area - HYBRID opportunity

Main Responsibilities:

• Participate in all accounting functions including month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations, and more!
• Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage company's audit process.
• Reconcile account balances and ensure accuracy.
• Use strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve identified discrepancies in financial data between the old and new systems.
• Research and analyze financial variances and discrepancies, develop effective solutions and/or make recommendations to address them.
• Review systems and processes to ensure the accuracy of data migration, making adjustments as required.
• Assist in accounts receivable including generating invoices and processing wire transfers.
• Assist in accounts payable including paying vendor invoices, reconciling expense reports, issuing checks, and budget reconciliations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
