We are inviting applications for the role of Sr. Accountant based in Houston, Texas. The role is centered around the manufacturing industry and involves the management of accounting operations for a specific manufacturing unit. You will be in charge of the Profit & Loss statements, Manufacturing Statement, and Balance Sheet accounts, and will be expected to coordinate and support activities across various locations and departments.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounting operations for a particular manufacturing plant, including the management of Profit & Loss (P& L), Manufacturing Statement, and Balance Sheet accounts.
• Coordinate and support activities across different locations and departments.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and annual close duties, including accruals and reviewing financial information to ensure the financials are accurately and timely reported.
• Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of internal control in the area of responsibility.
• Analyze variances with balance sheet accounts and income/expense reports (manufacturing statements), to identify any potential issues prior to close.
• Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, and quarterly reports, including the monthly reporting packages including variance analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating expense and capital budgets.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory and handle overall costing of inventory.
• Manage AP/AR intercompany transactions between companies and balance monthly with counterparts.
• Operate as the key financial accountant for the assigned plant, providing overall control of the balance sheet and P& L for the assigned plant.
• Assist plant management with cost savings/profit improvement programs.
• Facilitate internal and external audit needs.
• Research and application of technical US GAAP requirements.

Skills:
• Proficiency in Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in SAP• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in the month-end close process
• Experience with SAP software is a must
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
