Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician performs advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This role focuses on diagnosing issues with sensors, motors, and control systems, as well as repairing and optimizing mechanical systems to keep equipment running safely and efficiently at established production standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting on photo eyes, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Support PLC-related troubleshooting activities, including working with Siemens and Mitsubishi systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems such as bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, pallet lifts, and press machines.
• Remove, replace, and rewire three-phase AC and DC motors.
• Complete machinery adjustments to ensure equipment operates at established production and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective corrective actions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Support and execute preventative maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce unplanned outages.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to address equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use electrical schematics and documentation to identify, isolate, and resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while working around multiple machines in a production-driven environment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or automated distribution environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, including experience working with voltages ranging from 24V up to 480V.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on production equipment.
• Experience working with VFDs, sensors, photo eyes, and three-phase motors.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, and motors.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC-related troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
• Strong general electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfort working around multiple machines and complex automated systems.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate equipment status clearly.

Work Environment

The role is based indoors in a large, air-conditioned facility spanning approximately 470,000 square feet. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with work performed around multiple machines and automated systems. You will spend most of your shift on your feet, standing and moving throughout the facility while performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment. The setting is industrial, with exposure to conveyors, motors, press machines, pallet lifts, and other production machinery, requiring consistent attention to safety procedures and situational awareness.
