Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting 4th and 5th grade students as a Learning Behavior Specialist. This onsite position runs from August 17th through the end of the school year, with a structured weekday schedule (8:00 AM – 3:15 PM, 33.75 hours per week). You’ll work with an energetic caseload of 11 fifth-graders and 6 fourth-graders for reading, as well as 8 fifth-graders and 5 fourth-graders for math in a self-contained classroom environment. Students are mainstreamed with general education peers for specials, lunch, recess, and social studies/science, fostering rich collaboration and inclusion.

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement (required)
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary or intermediate setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, especially for reading and math goals
• Ability to personalize instruction and implement evidence-based strategies
• Collaborative spirit to partner with general education staff and families
