Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer maintains and repairs factory production machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role focuses on diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, and related mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain factory production machinery, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and rollers, to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance to identify wear and tear and prevent unexpected equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on industrial machinery and implement effective repair solutions.
- Diagnose and repair basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues as they relate to production equipment.
- Work with different belt materials and operate rubber press equipment as part of mechanical power transmission systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively during maintenance and repair tasks.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support ongoing reliability and inventory management.
- Monitor machinery performance and report recurring issues or improvement opportunities to reduce downtime.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on machinery, including when climbing ladders and lifting heavy items.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on experience using power tools and shop equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, and belt-driven systems.
- Familiarity with different belt materials and rubber press operations.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting capabilities related to industrial equipment.
- Basic pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Physical stamina to stand for long shifts, climb ladders, and lift heavy items safely.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a maintenance technician or maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Experience in maintenance repair work involving motors, gearboxes, bearings, and rollers.
- Familiarity with structured preventive maintenance programs and maintenance best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with attention to detail and a focus on equipment reliability.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and other team members regarding equipment status.

Work Environment
This role operates in a factory production setting on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You work around industrial machinery and shop equipment, using hand tools and power tools throughout the day. The position is physically active, requiring extended periods of standing, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy items in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
