Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic performs routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment to maximize uptime, safety, and efficiency. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical and basic electrical systems, supporting preventive maintenance programs, and collaborating closely with production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, pallet lifts, and press machines.
- Remove, replace, and rewire three-phase AC/DC motors to restore and maintain equipment performance.
- Complete machinery adjustments to ensure equipment operates at established production standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Support and follow preventive maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to address equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use basic electrical knowledge to safely work with systems ranging from 24V up to 480V as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status and issues to relevant team members.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or automated distribution environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on production equipment.
- Experience working with bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with three-phase AC/DC motors, including removal, replacement, and rewiring.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, including experience working with voltages ranging from 24V up to 480V.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance on production machinery.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on timely resolution.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while working around multiple machines.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in an automated distribution setting is beneficial.
- Experience working specifically with pneumatics, conveyors, or motors is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional production teams.
- Strong communication skills to clearly describe equipment issues and maintenance needs.

Work Environment
You will work indoors in a large, air-conditioned facility of approximately 470,000 square feet. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with multiple machines operating simultaneously. The role requires standing for the duration of your shift and moving throughout the facility to service equipment. You will work around mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyors, motors, pneumatics, and other production machinery, while following all safety procedures and guidelines.
