What You'll Do
As a Field Technician II, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical power systems by:
- Performing testing, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power distribution equipment.
- Traveling to customer facilities throughout the Nashville region and surrounding areas to support field service projects.
- Working with low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
- Supporting testing and maintenance activities on:
- Circuit breakers
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- Motors
- Current Transformers (CTs)
- Potential Transformers (PTs)
- Capacitive Coupled Voltage Transformers (CCVTs)
- Grounding systems and related equipment
- Utilizing advanced testing equipment including:
- Megger testers
- Ductor testers
- Hi-Pot equipment
- Power factor testing instruments
- CT ratio and saturation testing equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Accurately documenting test results, repairs, maintenance activities, and field observations.
- Participating in safety meetings and maintaining strict adherence to industry and company safety standards.
- Building professional relationships with customers and representing the company with exceptional service.
- Expanding your technical skills through ongoing training and progression toward advanced NETA certifications.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in electrical power systems, utilities, industrial maintenance, electrical contracting, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience working with electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
- Experience supporting electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and electrical safe work practices.
- Ability and willingness to work in a field environment approximately 95% of the time.
- Flexibility to travel locally and regionally and work occasional overtime.
- NETA certification or equivalent experience aligned with NETA testing standards and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in data center environments.
- Exposure to low, medium, and high-voltage testing applications.
- Interest in advancing through NETA certification levels.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative field team.
- Proficiency using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices for reporting and documentation.
