Grant Fiscal Specialist – 100% On-Site | Phoenix, AZPay Rate: Starts at $
36.28/hr.+ • Excellent SoAZ benefits
Shift: Mon–Fri, 8:00AM–4:30PM
Term: 6 months (Temp-to-Hire)
Duties/Responsibilities• Direct administrative activities of ECE grants and budgets, including communication with procurement, accounting, personnel, and payroll
• Support budget planning for AZED and local education agencies (LEAs), ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements
• Manage, review, and process projects, grants, ISAs/IGAs for assistance funding
• Oversee program fiscal accountability, developing reports for funding agencies and stakeholders
• Monitor budget line items for compliance with the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR)
• Support
development/management of State and Federal Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) projects and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects for federally declared events
• Collaborate with departments and provide customer service, budget updates, and technical assistance
• Heavy use of Excel/spreadsheets; may assist with procurement tasks (POs, invoices)
• Provide fiscal/data technical assistance to early childhood education programs; facilitate collaborative relationships
Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (or 2+ years related work experience)
• Minimum two years supporting finance or accounting operations in
educational/business settings
• Experience working with large grants (millions of dollars) and program fiscal oversight
• Proven budgeting and fiscal management skills; heavy Excel proficiency
• Strong communication (verbal/written), analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, develop procedures, and produce detailed reports
• High-quality customer service orientation
Preferred Experience/Certifications• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or organizational management
• 15+ credit hours in accounting or financial management
• Experience with Adobe applications
• Experience working in programs supporting children and families
• Knowledge of state and federal grants, standard accounting principles, procurement, program evaluation
