Join our dynamic team at our newest club location, the Julie & Mike Connors Workforce Readiness Center located in Dreher Park, West Palm Beach.
The Career Bound (CB) Manager implements, manages, and facilitates Career Bound, a college and workforce readiness program withintheir assigned Club, focused primarily on helping high school members achieve on-time graduation, and fully prepare them to pursue their college or career plans. The CB Manager creates an inclusive Academic, Career and College Readiness culture with Club leadership, staff and members. In reporting to the College and Career Readiness Program Director, the CB Manager helps to inform the continued evolution and expansion of the CB program, together with the entire CB team. The CB Manager ensures timely outcome measurement according to contractual agreements associated with a diverse portfolio of grants. The CB Manager recruits and supervises, a Part-time Career Bound Teacher, and part-time Teen Specialist, along with AmeriCorps Volunteer Members, and assists with the supervision of the assigned number of Jr. Counselors during the summer. The CB Manager co-reports to the Executive Club Director as part of managing the daily operations of the Club.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):
- Guides members in career and college exploration, developing their Personalized Academic and Career Plans By working at 2–3 feeder high schools during the school day and engaging students at the Club in the afternoons and evenings
- Ensures members engage in post-secondary preparation, completion and submission of college applications and FAFSA submissions with a target of 50 members completion rate per year.
- Hires and supervises Career Bound Teachers, ensuring they provide individualized and group academic support, monitor student progress, support graduation planning, deliver college and career readiness programming, provide SAT/ACT preparation and essay writing instruction, assist members with college applications, FAFSA, and scholarship identification and applications, offer academic and postsecondary planning, and document member services and outcomes.
- Hires and supervises part-time Teen Specialist who delivers teen programming and assists in achieving the organization’s goals for teen engagement and program outcomes.
- Organizes and leads 3-5 college/career tours, delivers BGCA curricula, and implements Team Teen Critical Mentoring program.
- Develops and implements a Annual, Quarter and Monthly Teen Program Calendar, promoting cross-club collaboration and engagement across teen-serving sites.
- Recruits & manages 5-10 Youth Volunteer Corps, Keystone Club (7-10 members), Youth of the Year competition with 3-5 candidates, and graduation celebrations. Recruits 5-7 AmeriCorps members.
- Hires and assists with the supervision of the Club's assigned Jr. Counselors during Summer Camp.
- Recruits and supervises AmeriCorps Volunteers assigned to support the CB program in collaboration with Impact Director of Youth Advancement.
- Conducts or cohosts quarterly workshops for teens and families on financial literacy, college planning, FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, career readiness, and other youth development topics as needed.
- Ensures members successfully transition into post-secondary pathways (college, career, or military), meeting or exceeding annual site-based placement targets established by the organization.
- Tracks and supports member placement outcomes, including college enrollment, workforce entry, and military enlistment, with goals adjusted based on site size and program capacity.
- Manages program & project-specific budget(s), following a pre-determined spending schedule.
- Maintains a universal system of outcome measurement processes, including collecting members’ academic records, report card grades, attendance, pre and post-tests, surveys, and any additional items necessary to provide evidence of measurable outcomes.
- Works with the School District, staff and members to collect members’ progress reports and final report cards at the end of grading periods.
- Uses program data to monitor progress toward performance goals and implement strategies to improve recruitment, attendance, retention, and postsecondary outcomes.
- Participates in collective impact initiatives and community partnerships that advance college, career, and workforce readiness (e.g., Achieve Palm Beach County, Birth to 22, School District of Palm Beach County College and Career Readiness initiatives, district college and career fairs, workforce development partnerships, and local postsecondary and employer collaborations).
