Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs highly automated manufacturing equipment in a clean, climate-controlled facility. This role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, supporting production reliability, and ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met. You will work regularly with PLCs, CNC machines, robotics, and a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document all maintenance activities accurately.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document all maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Diagnose and repair plant machinery and equipment such as lathes, mills, welding and brazing equipment, presses, conveyors, pumps, motors, bearings, and automated assembly lines.
- Work regularly with PLCs, CNC machines, and multi-axis robotic systems to identify issues and perform corrective maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems using basic testing equipment, including multimeters.
- Interpret and apply electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, as well as mechanical drawings and blueprints, to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Support the maintenance of automated equipment, including robotic welders and multi-axis robots, ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborate closely with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and maintain continuous operations.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following established procedures, using appropriate protective measures, and promoting a safe work environment.
- Uphold quality standards by ensuring repairs and adjustments meet operational specifications and do not compromise product quality.
- Participate in ongoing training and development activities offered through the maintenance training hub to expand technical skills.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership regarding equipment status, repair needs, and improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance within highly automated or automotive manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with industrial equipment and machinery.
- Experience working with mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors, bearings, robotics, and CNC equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems safely and effectively.
- Proficiency in electrical maintenance tasks, including working with PLCs and automated equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Experience using basic testing equipment such as multimeters for diagnostics.
- Capability to work on and support automated equipment including robotic welders and multi-axis robots.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards in an industrial environment.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow technical skills through ongoing training and development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in automotive manufacturing or highly automated production environments.
- Associates degree in a related field such as Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting, including working with systems such as FANUC.
- Experience operating and maintaining lathes, mills, presses, and other machine tools.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Comfort working with multi-axis robotics systems and robotic welders.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and equipment through structured training programs.
