QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Vocational or Technical certification in Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Electrical Circuits, Electrical Machinery, or a related technical discipline required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant industrial maintenance or automation experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within pharmaceutical, food, printing, packaging, or other technology-driven industries.
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline may qualify with 5 or more years of relevant experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation, electrical, mechanical, and control systems supporting upstream and downstream manufacturing operations.
- Support automated processing and packaging equipment including mixers, coaters, pouchers, cartoners, packaging lines, laboratory equipment, tablet presses, fluid bed dryers, granulators, vision systems, stability chambers, Building Management Systems (BMS), and water system controls.
- Upload, download, and maintain PLC programs while assisting with control system modifications and troubleshooting.
- Perform hands-on equipment installation, startup, calibration, commissioning, validation support, and operational testing.
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement timely corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
- Provide technical support across multiple functions, including field service, bench repair, robotics, production support, and maintenance activities as needed.
- Monitor and improve automated manufacturing processes to maximize equipment reliability, production efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Review equipment history, maintenance records, and performance trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Interpret, verify, and work from P&IDs, electrical schematics, engineering drawings, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, calibration records, repair documentation, and equipment history files.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintain proper organization and cataloging of replacement components.
- Communicate equipment status, maintenance issues, and downtime to production leadership while following established escalation procedures.
- Coordinate daily with shift leadership and technicians during shift handoffs to ensure effective communication and continuity of operations.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and company quality standards.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide technical support and respond to equipment issues as required.
