We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a fast-paced team in Brea, California. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who can manage complex close activities, support technical accounting matters, and deliver meaningful financial insights to leadership. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, strengthen reporting accuracy, and help drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and automation.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly and annual close activities, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger activity, and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain strong accounting integrity.
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance, including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards, to support compliant financial reporting.
• Perform fluctuation reviews, trend evaluations, and variance analysis to identify key business drivers and explain results to management.
• Assist with audit preparation and year-end deliverables by organizing supporting documentation and responding to internal and external requests.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on special projects, including acquisitions and other strategic finance initiatives.
• Support process improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through automation and AI-enabled tools.
• Contribute to major accounting initiatives and project-based work while maintaining flexibility during critical reporting periods, including overtime at month-end when needed.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to technical accounting matters.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience applying ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Proven ability to manage month-end close tasks, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience supporting audits, financial analysis, and reporting activities such as variance and trend analysis.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present accounting matters clearly to both team members and senior management.
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, high-energy environment and willing to provide additional support during busy close cycles.
