Job Title: Sr. Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment within a high-volume facility. The technician ensures that all mechanical and robotic systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime to support continuous operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair material handling equipment throughout the facility to support continuous operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, ensuring safe and reliable performance.
- Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging equipment used in high-volume distribution operations.
- Install, maintain, and repair automated distribution equipment to minimize downtime and support throughput goals.
- Support the Operations Maintenance team by responding promptly to maintenance requests and equipment issues.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and robotic systems to identify and resolve issues before failures occur.
- Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and documentation to diagnose mechanical and pneumatic faults and implement effective repairs.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working on all equipment.
- Document maintenance activities accurately, including repairs performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Collaborate with other technicians and operations staff to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
Essential Skills
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- 4+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- 4+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyorsystems and controls
- 4+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
- 4+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
- 3+ years experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE systems
- 4+ year experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)and Safety standards
- 3+ year experience with a Computerized
- Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Shifts Available:
6:00am - 4:30pm, Sunday - Wednesday
6:00am - 4:30pm, Wednesday - Saturday
5:00pm - 3:30am, Sunday - Wednesday
5:00pm - 3:30pm, Wednesday - Saturday
Additional Skills & Qualifications (Preferred, but not required)
- Experience working with and coordinating with vendors
- Continuous improvement mindset; working w/ multiple stakeholders; complex maint activities
- Associates or higher degree from vocational school or college (Mechanical/Electrical field)
- Experience acting in a team lead capacity that supports, trains and mentors less experienced techs
- Project Management experience
- 2+ years experience with robotic operation and maintenance
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ of experience working with PLC based controls systems

Work Environment
The position is based in a large, high-volume distribution facility that operates with automated material handling, packaging, and pneumatic systems. You will work around moving machinery and conveyor systems, and you may spend extended periods on your feet while performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The environment is fast paced and may involve shift-based work to support operations, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on facility needs. Appropriate work attire and safety gear are required when working around equipment and in operational areas.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
