Estimating Manager – Construction

About the Opportunity:

A growing real estate development and construction organization is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to play a key role in preconstruction, budgeting, procurement, and cost management across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who enjoys more than simply putting numbers to plans. The Estimating Manager will have meaningful involvement in how projects are budgeted, bid, purchased, and ultimately delivered. You’ll partner closely with project teams and leadership while building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate combines strong construction estimating knowledge with commercial instincts, attention to detail, and the ability to negotiate effectively in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to develop accurate project budgets
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Develop bid packages and ensure appropriate trade coverage
• Identify scope gaps, pricing discrepancies, and potential cost risks before construction
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trade partners
• Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors and subcontractors
• Support purchasing activities, including purchase orders and procurement schedules
• Partner with project managers and leadership to maintain cost accuracy from preconstruction through project execution
• Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives
• Monitor material, labor, and subcontractor pricing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings
• Maintain accurate estimating, bidding, purchasing, and contract documentation
• Help improve estimating and procurement processes as the organization continues to grow

What We’re Looking For:

• Construction estimating and/or purchasing experience
• Strong understanding of construction costs, scopes of work, and subcontractor bidding
• Ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with project teams, leadership, subcontractors, and vendors

Preferred Experience:

• Experience estimating residential, multifamily, mixed-use, or commercial construction projects
• Knowledge of construction cost databases and subcontractor bidding processes
• Experience with construction management, estimating, or ERP platforms
• Previous responsibility for both estimating and purchasing/procurement is a plus
