We are seeking an experienced VP, Accounting & Compensation to lead the accounting, treasury, and advisor compensation operations across a dynamic holding company and its subsidiaries. In this key leadership role, you will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and multi-entity tax and audit requirements while serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite leadership.
About The Opportunity:
- Compensation - $160,000-200,000 annual base salary

Your Responsibilities:
- Oversight & Management - Provide leadership and direction over the Accounting and Compensation Departments.
- Deliverable Verification - Perform final review of all prepared accounting and compensation deliverables.
- Consolidated Financial Leadership - Directed reporting, budgeting, and FP&A operations across a holding company and ten subsidiaries.
- Advisor Compensation - Direct weekly calculation and disbursement of client advisor compensation.
- Treasury & Cash Management - Oversee daily cash operations, including receipts, disbursements, liquidity management, and balance reporting.
- Internal Controls & Governance - Maintained and strengthened organizational internal financial controls to safeguard assets.
- Regulatory Compliance - Managed financial reporting, capital requirements, and regulatory filings for regulated business entities.
- Strategic Advisory - Provided financial oversight across the holding company and subsidiaries, delivering strategic analysis and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Process Automation & Tech - Leveraged technology systems to streamline workflows and increase efficiency across accounting and compensation departments.
- Payroll Operations - Directed total payroll processing and compliance operations.
- Audit & Tax Leadership - Led annual financial statement audits and coordinated tax filings across multiple corporate entities.
- Vendor & Partner Relations - Managed primary relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, bankers, legal counsel, and key vendors.
- Operational Agility - Executed special projects and executive financial initiatives as required.
Required Experience:
- Experience - 8+ years accounting experience with prior proven experience managing a team
- Industry Background - Prior experience in securities/broker-dealer industry a plus, but not required
- Certifications & Licenses - Series 27 or 28 Financial & Operations Principal License (required) and CPA (highly desired)
- Technology Proficiency - Proficiency with NetSuite Accounting Software and Intermediate Excel skills
- Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Interpersonal Relationships - Ability to engage with staff at all levels and maintain positive interdepartmental collaboration
