Production Supervisor
Essential Function Job Description
I. Position Title: Production Supervisor
II. Employment Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
III. Department: Production
IV. Responsible to: Plant Manager
V. Fundamental Objective: Responsible for overseeing a variety of functions within the production department, including but not limited to, receiving, processing, packaging, shipping, inventory control and sanitation.
VI. Level of Supervision Required: Moderate
VII. Supervisory Responsibilities: Position will supervise the following positions - Production Worker, Lift Truck Operator, Sorter, Packer, Food Processing Equipment Operator, Bagging Machine Operator, Maintenance Technician.
VIII. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Using sound business practices and judgment, the Production Supervisor has the authority to take reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the position.
B. Provide leadership, by example, establishing and maintaining quality standards with a continuous leadership mindset.
C. Work closely with the Quality Control and Human Resources departments on a regular basis.
D. Coordinate staffing needs to ensure all production needs and schedules are met.
E. Schedule team members to ensure all shifts are adequately covered.
F. Oversee the daily operations for the production department, ensuring all required functions are planned and executed properly, efficiently and safety.
G. Assures machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
H. Act as food safety leader, ensuring all operations are performed in line with company policies and procedures.
I. Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming raw product and consumables, such as packaging and seasoning, ensuring all company procedures are followed.
J. Oversee the daily and monthly inventory and adjustment process, ensuring accuracy.
K. Keep accurate records as required.
L. Promote a safe work environment at all times.
M. Review and approve employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy.
N. Lead team meetings and training sessions, as required

IX. Minimum Qualifications:
A. High school diploma or equivalent, Associates in Arts or Associates in Science preferred.
B. Two years’ related experience including the supervision of at least five staff members.
C. Working knowledge of – MS Office Suite
D. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a forklift certification.
