Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a growing company that is seeking a strategic and analytical Payroll Manager to join our team. This role will involve overseeing all payroll functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness, leading the payroll team, and collaborating with other professionals in the organization on payroll, payroll taxes, and expense issues. Responsibilities:

• Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.).
• Oversee the complete payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Lead the payroll team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
• Collaborate with other professionals in the organization to resolve payroll, payroll taxes, and expense issues
• Analyze payroll data and reports for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations specific to the construction industry
• Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
• Manage and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or issues
• Develop and implement payroll procedures and policies
• Maintain knowledge of current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data
• Collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in payroll management

• Proven experience in managing payroll for unionized employees

• Certification in Payroll Management

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations

• Knowledge of construction/contractor industry is a plus.
