Speech Language Pathology Assistant - Manassas, VA
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SLPA to join our team. As an SLPA, you will work closely with our SLP to support the communication and language development of students from Pre-K to 8th grade. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children by providing individual and small group therapy sessions, assisting with assessments, and collaborating with teachers and other members of the educational team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP in implementing therapy plans and interventions.
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of the SLP, including individual and small group sessions targeting speech and language goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support the communication needs of students across various educational settings.
- Assist in conducting screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring to evaluate student communication skills and determine appropriate intervention strategies.
- Implement evidence-based strategies and techniques to address speech and language goals, including articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication.
- Support students with diverse needs, including those with speech and language disorders, developmental delays, and disabilities, in achieving their educational and communication goals.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in communication sciences and disorders or SLPA Associate s degree
- Must have an active Virginia SLPA License
- Previous experience working with children in educational or clinical setting preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
